Paying yourself

Many families arrange and pay for care directly.

Council funded

The council can assess the person's needs and may fund some or all of the care. Ask the council for a needs assessment

Direct payments

The government have introduced various ways for individuals to access funds that can be used to purchase domiciliary and social care. These include, but are not limited to, direct payments. Direct payments on GOV.UK

NHS Continuing Healthcare

Some people with ongoing health needs qualify for care funded by the NHS. NHS Continuing Healthcare on nhs.uk

Who can get direct payments.

  • If you are 16 or over and suffering from a disability
  • If you are a parent responsible for a child with a disability
  • If you are a carer aged 16 or over
  • If you are an elderly person
